Basketball and Scares

This week was a pretty good week, until tonight! More on that later. On Thursday, Jeff was off and we went to the park to eat lunch. We also showed Jaden some log cabins and let him play on the playground. I love our parks dept. here. You never realize what you have in your city until you start searching. We have found several things to do lately. Several festivals are coming up, and we can't wait!
Jaden will be starting basketball again next month. I hope he enjoys it as much as soccer. For some reason, I don't think he will. Especially since he keeps telling me so!
Tonight, we had a scare. I was in the kitchen and heard Jaden saying "Ouchy ouchy ouchy" over and over! It scared me! I ran in and there was blood dripping from his head and blood all over his hands. He ran into the piano while he was dancing! Poor thing! I put some ice on it and got it to stop bleeding. It was still bleeding slightly when he went to bed! It was very scary. I am so happy that he is doing alright.
Tomorrow, we have friends coming over and a birthday party to go to! Have a great weekend!

The weekend...

We had a great weekend. The kids and I went to a birthday party on Saturday. I will post some pictures. Jaden had a great time and Cassidy loved the cake!

Sunday was a relax day. I got a few more winter clothes for the kids and Jaden got a new game. More to come on that later in the post! We didn't do much of anything. Jaden practiced riding his bike! He is getting better. I am struggling with staying on my diet, but I have done well. I have lost a pound since last week. We went to church last night. The last few times I have gone, I have had this feeling of "We go to the best church in our town!". I am thoroughly enjoying and thinking of becoming a member. I am not sure what is involved in that. After church, Jaden had a picture of a cave and he had drawn a little man inside. I asked, "Who is the little man?". Jaden responded, "David!". I was very impressed! How cool is that! While riding in the car home, Jaden asked Jeff, "Are you ready to put ants in Spongebob's pants?". I was cracking up! You see, Jaden got a new game today. It is a Spongebob version of Ants in the pants! LOL
The kids seem to both have colds today. Also, I can't find my keys. It is not a good day!!!!!
I have been feeling burnt out lately, and I need a little motivation!

Making cakes and winter clothes

Last night, I helped a friend make her daughter's first birthday cake. That was fun! I will try to get some pictures of it tomorrow. We will be going to the party tomorrow.
Today, we got some much needed winter clothes for the kids. Jaden can actually fit into SOME of his stuff from last year, just not much. Cassidy also got a few new things. I really can't wait for the cooler weather. Jaden and I played soccer outside today and got really sweaty! UGH. He also practiced riding his bike. He is getting better at it! He loves to honk at all of the cars that pass him! It cracks me up every time he does it!
Tonight, I plan on getting some rest and doing my MUCH NEEDED exercises. I have been back on a strict diet the past couple of days. It gets easier as the days go by! I hope to reach my big goal by the New Year!

Kings Island

We had a great time at Kings Island yesterday! The kids had a blast! We weren't sure if Cassidy would like it yet, but she did! It was awesome to watch her experience all of the things there! No one got car sick (which is an incredible feat for us!).

Here are some pictures:
Let's Go:
Enjoying our Ice Cream!!! (this is my favorite ice cream!):
Cassidy loved Dora!:
Jaden's first ride by himself! (By the end of the day, he insisted on riding the rides by himself!)

We tried to flush him down, but it didn't work! LOL:
We had a great time! Hope everyone enjoys the pictures. Today, we have some whiny kids, but it was worth it! They are so tired!
After yesterday, I have noticed I need to workout more. I am hoping to notice a change in my body soon. I am not at all happy with it right now! So, pray that I can get back on track and find time to work out more.
Have a great week everyone!

Finally, catching up.....

Wow, how long has it been? We have been so busy and I really don't know where to begin.
My mom had her birthday last weekend, we went to Edinburgh (Indiana), and Jeff has been on vacation since Wednesday. It has been a good week. I also got away from the kids one evening for a Girls Night Out! Catherine and I spent the evening at Starbucks. We had a great time, and some great coffee.

We went to the Oktoberfest on Thursday and today! There is some really good food there! Don't really care for the beer, but the food and atmosphere is nice. Jaden had a blast dancing with me! I really cherish those kind of moments.
As for tomorrow, we are going to Kings Island! I can't wait, and neither can Jaden. We are so excited. I will be sure to get tons of pictures!
*UPDATE on Jaden singing in church:
All went well! He went on stage with all of the other kids, but he was in the back and you can't see him in the video. So, I am not even going to post it. But, he did great, and thanks for all of the prayers! They worked! HEHEHE!!!! By the way, I love that boy!!!!!!

Birthdays and Garage Sales

Wow, September is filled with so many birthdays! We celebrated Pam's by going to the Grand Traverse Pie Company. That is a fabulous restaurant! Everyone should try it. They are like Panera Bread (but not better, hehehe)!

Grandma bought Jaden a BIG cookie!

Afterward, we went bowling! Jaden scored 2! LOL

We had a great time there!
This morning, I got the kids up and we headed to some garage sales. We didn't get much, just a couple of books and two small toys for Jaden. It was nice getting out and walking though.
Tonight, we are playing cards with some friends and tomorrow we are celebrating my mom's birthday! Please pray for Jaden, as he will be singing in front church tomorrow. And, the regular evening service has around 400-500 people! So, PLEASE, pray for him!

Birthdays and Cake!

Well, it happened. I gained weight! Not just a little. Over the weekend I gained a whopping 4-5 pounds! UGH! So, now that the birthdays are almost all over, I can get back on track. I already did some running today and I plan on doing my pilates tonight. I pray that I can get back to the weight I was last week, quickly!!!!!

Today, I took a couple of pictures of Maddy. I also took a picture of some flowers that I just love in our yard. I am using it as my wallpaper. Feel free to use it also!! It is pretty!

The long weekend is over!

We had a great weekend! Jaden's party is now over with, and I feel like I can relax now. Yesterday, we took him to Bogey's Family Fun Center! He loves to play mini golf there. Afterward, we took him to Baskin Robbins for the "ice cream with all the different colors". He really likes the ice cream there. We had a nice walk around the park yesterday. Jeff got a workout! Jaden had him running everywhere! Today, we took it easy. Jaden got to go shopping and spend some birthday money. He ended up with another Shaggy and Scooby figurine, Krypto the Superdog's Rocket, more of the Littlest Petshop Pets, and a flying disc. He was very excited!

This week, we have two more birthdays to celebrate! Also, Jaden will be singing if front of the church this Sunday! I can't wait for that. On September 16th, we will be heading to Kings Island! That will be fun. This year we will be taking both of the kids!
Here are a few more pictures from the weekend. Happy Labor Day!

Could this face be any worse!:
