Tea parties, Volkswagens, and Trash!

Wow, what a title. That is a little bit of what has been going on around here.
We have had a Volkswagen Beetle in the garage for over a year waiting to get fixed. After a new motor and new battery, it is like new! We couldn't wait to take it for a spin. Cassidy even helped clean it up! We got to take it for a spin the other day!

Ok, so it is not a "real" Beetle, but hey, the next best thing! Cassidy loves it!

Today, I decided to spend some quality time with the kids. We decided to have a tea party! We went to the library first and picked up some tea party books and a tea party video. We stopped at the store and picked up some ingredients for April Fools Day. We came home and started getting everything ready for our tea party. I made shortbread while Jaden got the Cinderella tea set ready. Here was our menu: Tomato Soup, Cucumber sandwiches, strawberries, crackers, warm shortbread, butter cake, and Blueberry tea. Jaden did not eat his soup or sandwich, but Cassidy tried everything! While we ate, we watched My Little Pony's The Biggest Tea Party. We also stuck our pinkies high in the air!Well, we tried anyway. Cassidy couldn't get her pinkie up there! We also read two books about tea parties. It was a fun time!
Afterward, we tried to have school outside, but Jaden just wasn't having it today. He whined the entire time. So we did some phonics and math and we were done. Tomorrow, we will be making some Easter crafts.
When Jeff got home, we ate supper then went for a walk while the kids rode. Cassidy rode her Beetle and Jaden rode his bike! They had a great time. We finished with a little bit of basketball. We were also happy to teach them a new thing!
They were so excited to take the trash out!
I wish they would keep that excitement! I will leave you with a short video of the kids riding their vehicles!

Sunday

I was reading this today and thought I would share it with everyone!

Have a great Sunday.
What does the bible say about church attendance?
The Bible tells us to meet together as believers and to encourage one another.Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (NIV)
The reason I encourage Christians to find a good church is because the Bible instructs us to be in relationship with other believers. If we are part of Christ's body, we will recognize our need to fit into the body of believers. The church is the place where we come together to encourage one another as members of Christ's body. Together we fulfill an important purpose on the Earth.
As members of the body of Christ, we belong to each other.

Planning Cassidy's birthday party

Even though my birthday is coming up, I am planning Cassidy's birthday party. She is still not old enough to have "friends", so we will probably have a family party again. It is a good reason to get all of the family together. It looks like we will be having her party either on May 2nd or on her birthday, May 3rd. She has insisted on having a Hello Kitty birthday theme. I was hoping for a Tinkerbell or Disney princess party, but I guess that will have to wait. I really do not understand her fascination with Hello Kitty. So, here are some ideas I have:

It's only $4000! Haha, she wishes. So, really, here is what I have planned:

We have already bought the Hello Kitty Princess movie. We plan on taking her to Build a Bear to make her Hello Kitty. I hope they still have it there by then. I haven't decided on the rain boots yet. They are so cute, but I think she will want to wear them everywhere! Also, wish me luck on those Hello Kitty Cake pops! LOL

I can't wait. I hope she has a wonderful 3rd birthday. We are not spending too much money because of our Disney trip. It looks like the gifts she will get from us are:

1. Hello Kitty Build a Bear

2. Hello Kitty movie (found this on ebay for $2!)

3. Ariel soft doll (found this on clearance at Kroger!!!)

4. Candy Land game (found this on clearance at Target after Christmas!)

Here are some things she would love to have:
(she loved this castle when she played with it in Edinburgh!!!!)http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Deluxe-Folding-Princess/dp/B000NKH0E6/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1238160149&sr=8-1

A Toddlers Creed

I found this on an old friend's blog. How true!
The Toddler’s CreedIf it is on, I must turn it off.
If it is off, I must turn it on.
If it is folded, I must unfold it.
If it is a liquid, it must be shaken, then spilled.
If it a solid, it must be crumbled, chewed or smeared.
If it is high, it must be reached.
If it is shelved, it must be unshelved.
If it is pointed, it must be run with at top speed.
If it has leaves, they must be picked.
If it is plugged, it must be unplugged.
If it is not trash, it must be thrown away.
If it is in the trash, it must be removed, inspected, and thrown on the floor.
If it is closed, it must be opened.
If it does not open, it must be screamed at.
If it has drawers, they must be rifled.
If it is a pencil, it must write on the refrigerator, monitor, or table.
If it is full, it will be more interesting emptied.
If it is empty, it will be more interesting full.
If it is a pile of dirt, it must be laid upon.
If it is stroller, it must under no circumstances be ridden in without protest. It must be pushed by me instead.
If it has a flat surface, it must be banged upon.
If Mommy's hands are full, I must be carried.
If Mommy is in a hurry and wants to carry me, I must walk alone.
If it is paper, it must be torn.
If it has buttons, they must be pressed.
If the volume is low, it must go high.
If it is toilet paper, it must be unrolled on the floor.
If it is a drawer, it must be pulled upon.
If it is a toothbrush, it must be inserted into my mouth.
If it has a faucet, it must be turned on at full force.
If it is a phone, I must talk to it.
If it is a bug, it must be swallowed.
If it doesn't stay on my spoon, it must be dropped on the floor.
If it is not food, it must be tasted.
If it is food, it must not be tasted.
If it is dry, it must be made wet with drool, milk, or toilet water.
If it is a carseat, it must be protested with an arched back.
If it is Mommy (or Daddy), it must be hugged.I am toddler!
also... If Mommy's carrying me, plus groceries, plus car keys, plus holding another kiddo's hand in a busy parking lot... her cell phone will ring every time!
and also... If Mommy wants me to nap in the car, I won't. If Mommy doesn't want me to nap in the car, I will!AND... If we are running late... I will POOP!

Birthdays

My birthday is quickly approaching and I have several things on my wishlist. But, most of all, I am looking forward to some family time. Jeff will be off all weekend! Friday, my birthday, the fam is taking me to The Spaghetti Factory. I can' t wait. I love going there. My favorite is the Browned Butter Mizithra Spaghetti. Last night, I attempted to make the brown butter and it worked! It tasted just like the Spaghetti Factory's! I am so excited. It is not very healthy, so unfortunately, I can't have it every day!
I am not sure what we will be doing Saturday. My birthday's always seem to last an entire weekend! Sunday, we will be going to my parent's house. I am still trying to decided what I want for dinner there.
Here are a few things at the top of my wishlist this year:

1. Nike+ Sports kit

2. Kitchen Island

3. Grind and Brew coffeemaker

4. Wii

5. Cricut Hello Kitty Cartridge

6. Sewing Machine

7. Anything Monogrammed!!!! (rug, garden flag, mailbox cover, cups, pictures)

8. Itunes card

9. Target giftcard

10. This bag! I love it!!!!!
or this one! I think I like the second one better. I can't make up my mind!

Funny Faces

The kids posed for some funny pictures the other day and I thought I would share! Jaden loves for me to take pictures of his silly faces!

The kids had a great time at Suess on the Loose at the library the other day. Jaden was laughing so hard!
Afterward, we went to Toys R Us to celebrate the Little People 50th Birthday!

We had a busy day Saturday and didn't get home until supper time!
These next pictures I got before we left for church. I love these pictures:

We don't have much planned for the rest of the week. The weather is going to be warm! That makes me so happy. We will have school everyday, Jeff is off on Wednesday, playdate on Friday, and hopefully making it to the Y 3 or 4 days.

Great St. Patrick's Day!!

We had such a great day yesterday. Besides my stomach still feeling icky, I had a great day. It started with Jaden running down the stairs to see if the leprechauns filled his shoes with chocolate coins this year! And, they did!

They also turned our milk and applesauce green again this year! The kids were very excited! Afterward, we left for Brown County. We had a great time walking around and enjoying the nice weather. We ate at the Artist's Colony. They have the best vegetarian quesadillas! I also love sitting on the front porch to eat.

Jaden got some new sunglasses:

Afterward, we went to the Edinburgh outlets. We were disappointed to see the toy store gone. All that is left are a bunch of clothing and shoe stores. Not exactly my kids favorite thing. I found me some clothes though! Gap was having some wonderful sales!

It was a long day, but a great St Patrick's Day! Now, it is time for Spring and Easter. I love this weather!

Sick day!

I had a major sick day today. I did nothing but lay on the couch. Jaden did do two worksheets though. So, the day was not lost!

I am hoping to feel better tomorrow so I can go here:
And maybe stop and do a little of this:

And have some of this:

I love Spring!

I am so happy that the weather is getting warmer. I feel like getting out and exercising! On Friday, we went to the YMCA and joined! We were so excited that we went back that evening and worked out! We went back today. I had a great workout and the kids love the big play area. I am looking forward to many days of that. We also went to Chick Fil A. We love going there to eat. I also found a healthy wrap to eat. On Saturday, I took the kids to Trader Joe's and The Pita Pit. The sandwiches were so good.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I plan on taking the kids to the library tomorrow, having a playdate Thursday (or working out with a friend), going to MOPS, and having a nice day out with Daddy on Tuesday. Have a great week!

March is cleaning and losing weight month!

That is what I have devoted to the month of March. Not the most spiritual, but it does help me spiritually to have those things done. I can open my mind up more when I do not have so many things on my list to do. So, this March, I am going to get organized, cleaned, and smaller! ;)
I have been the same weight for too long now, and it is not where I want to be yet. I hope to lose 14 more pounds. 4 to get back to my goal weight, and then 10 more. I have been doing yoga and can tell a tremendous difference in my body and well being! Wow! I love it. Also, I have given up Coke Zero. It was an addiction and I am happy to say that I have gone a week without craving it! I tried to drink some the other night and it didn't even taste good to me. I am just happy the addiction is gone! I am drinking one coffee a day to get the caffeine. I was up to 3 cups a day, so I cut that back!
Today, I cleaned the windows and the bathrooms. I noticed under the toilet that the floor is bumpy! uh oh!!!! So, hopefully, Jeff will be looking at that tomorrow. Maybe I should suggest to him that I want new flooring in there for my birthday! LOL ;)

During Cassidy's nap today, I plan on doing yoga and making my St. Pat's banner. I was thinking of skipping the St. Patrick's day banner, but I figured we needed some kind of decoration.
Have a great week everyone!

My camera is found!

After thinking about it today, I realized that my camera must have fallen out of my purse while playing at the park on Thursday. So, after lunch, we went to the park. I found my camera in this field:Seriously, I am thanking God for leading me in the right direction and for making sure no one else took it! I know that we couldn't afford to buy another camera right now, and what would I do???? I always take pictures! I had a sick feeling in my stomach all the way to the park.

Here are some pictures from our day at the museum and the park:
Have a great weekend everyone! We are going to enjoy this wonderful weather!
