Mommy and Cassidy day!

Cassidy will miss her big brother today! Yesterday, we took Jaden to Grandma and Papa's. While we were there, we played their new Wii! Boy, I wish we had one! It is so much fun! The kids love it! Afterward, we went to the Christian bookstore and got a coffee. Cassidy was tired, so we headed back home.

This morning has been a quiet morning so far. I did Cassidy's "nail nails" and fixed her hair. We have to do some shopping today and go to Meijer for their Dr. Seuss day. I might take her to lunch, or fix her something special.

Jaden's new hair!

So, after trying to get Jaden's hair to comb down yesterday, I decided to get it all cut off. He wanted to get it done also! So, off we went to the mall. I think Jaden was excited to have a man cut his hair. It is always a woman! So, we decided on a short haircut. Jaden sat there very nicely and even told the man thank you! Here is the new and improved Jaden:

He looks so different and much older! I didn't even have to comb his hair this morning! ;)
We haven't had much going on. I think I had a 24 hour bug or food poisoning the other day. My stomach is still not back to normal, but much better than Sunday! We missed church, which makes me sad. I feel like we haven't made it to church regularly this month.
I rearranged some of our furniture the other day, and I love it! It gives us much more room in the family room.
Big news, we booked our Disney trip! We will be going August 30th through September 5th! I am starting to plan our trip now. I would love any suggestions!
Friday, we will be going to a playdate at the mall and then, heading to Terre Haute. Grandma and Papa are going to be watch Jaden this weekend. He is so excited because they have a Wii now! He can't wait to play. Sunday, we are getting together for my brother's birthday! We are going to Cracker Barrel.

A book!

My husband has wanted to write a book in forever. He always started but he never finished. Well, he has finally finished one and he is going to have it on Amazon soon. He got his proof copy and has sent in his final draft. It should be for sale soon. Look for 24 Hours with Spencer Field on Amazon soon. I hope many of you can support him in this venture.

We kept pretty busy this week. Jaden is reading long words now. He can read almost everything! I am so proud of him. The kids have been obsessed with watching Mary Poppins. We can't wait to see her at Disney World. Speaking of Disney World, we will be booking our trip very soon. We are hoping to call them today and find out what specials we might be able to get. We will be going August 30th through September 5th. Jaden will be spending his birthday there! How exciting!

Mops was wonderful yesterday. We had a speaker talking about depression and anxiety. Since I have dealt with both of these, I found it very interesting. I hope that it helped a lot of the women in there. I won the doorprize too! I got this:

I can't wait to try it out!Other than that, everything has been the same. I am eating right again and back to exercising. I got this yoga mat last week:

and I love it! I have been doing yoga almost every day. It has really helped with my weightloss, flexiblity, and anxiety.

Happy Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentine's day today. Here is how the day went:
First, I made heart shaped french toast for breakfast and gave the kids their cards and new coloring books.

Afterward, Jaden gave Cassidy a Valentine gift from him (a Cinderella water globe).

Next, I made some cupcakes and the kids helped me make some sugar cookies: The kids decided they had to eat some before lunch!

The kids had strawberries and cream cheese bagels for lunch:

We even found time to do school today! Daddy came home with goodies and a heart shaped pizza!

After all of that, we sat down to watch Charlie Brown. The kids played with balloons while it was on. I feel like I am getting a bad cold, so I am taking it easy tonight!

Valentine's Party

The kids had such a good time yesterday at their homeschooling group Valentine's party. I was so glad that we went. We watched the poetry recital, painted spoons, ate cupcakes, and made banana snowmen! And, of course, exchanged Valentine's! I hope everyone has a great Valentine's day!(and no, she didn't eat the icing! LOL)

Vacation is almost over!

Jeff's vacation is almost over and today we are relaxing.

The past 4 days have been great. On Sunday, we went to Terre Haute for some visiting and attended our old church. I really miss it. I think the kids do to. Unfortunately, it ended with some very sad news. A son of one of the members died in Afghanistan. His family is still in my prayers. I do not know them, but I just can't imagine! My mom got the kids some fun Valentine's things. Cassidy loves her princess placemat!
On Monday, we each took a kid on a "date". I took Jaden to Bouncertown and the mall. We had so much fun. Jaden spent over 2 hours running and jumping around. At the mall, we got candy, ate at the food court, shopped at the Disney store, and shared a Strawberry Oreo shake at Johnny Rockets. We had so much fun. Jeff took Cassidy to Chick fil a and the book store. It was so nice spending one on one time with Jaden. We rented Space Buddies and relaxed on the couch all together.

On Tuesday, we went to the Children's museum. We decided to buy a membership so we can go there more often this year. Now, I can take the kids any time! We had so much fun and Cassidy LOVED the carousel! Jaden really liked the Comics area. Afterward, we went to the Spaghetti Factory downtown. I love that place. The kids really enjoyed it too. We got to sit in the trolley!

Today, we are relaxing, but we had a few things to do. We checked out a preschool for Cassidy. I think she will start next week. It is only one day a week until May. Starting in September, she will go two days a week. I think this will be good for all of us! Now, we are getting ready to go to a Valentine party with some other homeschoolers. Jaden had to sign 45 cards!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Tomorrow, we are back on schedule with school and Friday, we have a playdate! The kids will also be making Valentine cookies on Saturday and getting lots of goodies! I can't wait!

First Library card!

Jaden got his first library card today! He was so excited. He got nervous writing his name on the card, so I had to finish that for him. Afterward, the kids starting acting up. So, we didn't have a very "nice" rest of the day. I really hate when good days go bad! ;(We don't really have much going on the rest of the week. Friday is MOPS, which we will be making some of the coasters I made for Christmas. I can't wait. It should be fun. Starting next year, I will no longer a group leader in MOPS. I have decided to change my position to Creative Activites. I can't wait. It should be a lot of fun!
Jeff begins his vacation on Saturday. We have things planned for almost every day. I hope everyone is having a great week. Personally, I can't wait for Saturday!

It's February!

I am so glad that January is finally behind us! Now, I have Jeff's mini vacation and Valentine's day to look forward to. We are planning on going to the Children's museum and going on a date with the kids. This time it will be my date with Jaden. I can't wait! I am trying to plan on things to do. He wants to play putt putt golf. Jeff will be going on a date with Cassidy. I can't wait to find out what they do.
The snow is finally melting. The kids played in it yesterday and I hope it will be gone for awhile. It looks like we might get some Spring temps this weekend. That will be nice. I just might have to go on a walk around the neighborhood.
I will not be putting up my Monday Menu for awhile. Jeff and I are trying to cut back, and the way we are doing this is by eating some Lean Cuisine meals. So, dinners will not be all that exciting this week. But, we are hoping to lose some weight, get healthier, and save some money! I am actually very excited about this. I love Lean Cuisine!
