A crazy week!

I am feeling the calm before the storm this week. Maybe that is why I had so much energy yesterday! Or it could have been that iced coffee I had in the morning. Whichever, right?
We have had so much fun the last few days and I am finally feeling out of my rut. I am learning that I live once and to enjoy every day that I am given. I am sure that God did not intend for me to sit on the computer for several hours a day. So, I have been busy doing other things! I enjoyed a little bit of shopping with Cassidy the other day.

We found some great deals at the grocery store that I can't wait to share with my MOPS group. I will be talking about couponing to them this Friday!

Cassidy found this Disney Princess scooter (saving my mom a ton of money!). She loves it. She has been putting her baby in the basket on the front!

Yesterday, I woke up and decided I was going to finishing painting our living and kitchen area. We went to Lowe's and got everything. I came home, cleaned the office and then, started painting. I love it! It makes the room look so much better. I don't have a picture of it yet.

After Jeff got home, I enjoyed one of these:

Frozen yogurt+Diet Sunkist= MMMMMMMM

It has been a great week so far. Tonight, I am going to a Mary Kay party. Tomorrow, a friend is coming over. Thursday is "prepare for the storm day!". Friday is MOPS and we are taking Cassidy to Build a Bear. I also have to get everything ready for a yard sale and start working on Cassidy's cupcakes. Saturday, wow, it is a packed day! And Sunday is Cassidy's birthday party! I can't wait! Bring it all on!

Today's list

This week and part of last has been very tough for me. I really don't know what is going on. I stepped on the scale and realized I have gained 10 pounds. I am sure that is part of the reason for this depression I am feeling. It rained so many days, which kept us stuck inside! I find that I am putting my trust and comfort in food again instead of Him. I need to focus today on life and what it is really about.
The list for today:
1. Enjoy the great outdoors with my kids!
2. Get healthy food at the grocery store today (NO MORE POINTLESS FOODS)
I say pointless foods because when you think about it, how many foods are you eating that your body doesn't need? I need to start eating in a different way again.
3. Clean up the messes in the house (have the kids help)
4. Going to the park for a playdate. This is much needed today!
5. Enjoy an iced coffee (oh yeah, number 2!!!!!)
6. Jillian's Shred
7. Yoga
I hope I can stick with these!
Have a great weekend everyone.

Earth Day

We had a great time celebrating our Earth today! We went to Home Depot and Cassidy picked out a flowering pear tree for us. The weather was cold and rainy, but we planted the tree anyway.Tree Hugger!
I have been up since early this morning with Cassidy. She says her head hurts and she keeps wanting ice. I am not sure what is wrong, but right now she is happily having a Vitamin cool pop. I am thinking she might just have a head cold. I hope that is all that is wrong.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Earth Day and you found something to do to celebrate this world that God gave us!

An awful day

I hate days like this. Days where I have no motivation. Days where the kids get on my nerves. Days where everything just gets to me. Days where the devil gets into my heart. I hate days like this. Thank the Lord for new days, new beginnings, and forgiveness.
Tomorrow is a new day! I can't wait. I feel like posting some things that make me happy. Just thinking about them will hopefully brighten my day.
1. The Lord: I can't even express how happy he makes me feel on a daily basis.
2. Hugs from my kids: what an awesome feeling I get when they hug me.
3. Jeff bringing me iced coffees: It is nice to know he is thinking of me.
4. Making new friends: It seems to take forever to make good friends. It is such a good feeling to finally have good friendships again. (the worst part of moving)
5. Spring: warmer weather, baby ducks, birds chirping, green grass, flowers, smell of fresh landscaping, new life
6. Christian music: the only thing I listen to now. It always lifts me up!
7. Crafts: I need to find time to do this again
8. Having my kids home: nothing better than homeschooling and watching my children learn.
9. New bed sheets: ahhhhhhh
10. eating nutritiously (yes really!) Why do I eat bad?????????????
11. Family outings
12. birthday parties
13. tshirts and sweatpants
14. candles
15. Starbucks
16. Biggest Loser
17. Yoga
18. Looking forward to something
19. watching the kids color
20. getting magazines in the mail!
Here is a song that I love running to and also explains how I am feeling today and what I will do tomorrow! So LONG SELF!!!!!!!!

Wow, there are so many things that make me happy that I should be thankful for. I need to remember this as I go through my days.
Have a wonderful week everyone.

Very busy!

I have been so busy. This week flew by! I can't even remember all of the things we did this week. We had a playdate at the park, planted some flowers, went for walk with some new friends, ate too much Easter candy, soccer, and another playdate! Wow! I also found some time to make Cassidy's invitations and got them sent out. I am happy to be having a small family party this year. She will probably start having friends over next year.

I just love this picture of all of the girls waiting for a train! They are so cute.

Today, I woke up with a cold. I feel horrible. I guess I will not be getting any running in today. We are thinking of taking the kids to see Aliens vs Monsters. Have a blessed Sunday everyone.

Product Review: Kashi

I do not normally do product reviews on this blog, but I can't say enough about these new Kashi bars!

Dark Chocolate Coconut Bars

These are my new favorite snack! I feel like I am eating a sinful dessert when I eat these. It definitely fulfills my craving for chocolate and something sweet! I really can't get enough of all of the Kashi products. Here are some of the products I eat every day!

Kashi Granola

Mighty Bites Cereal (the kids like the people shape)

Cereal Bars (like a fig newton but bigger and better!)

Pocket Bread Sandwiches (I have had the chicken fiesta sandwiches this week)

I also love the Kashi website! There is all kinds of good information there including daily challenges, healthy eating, workouts, and recipes!

Seriously, I am not getting paid for this! I just really love these products and they are really good for your body!

Another Monday

It is Monday again and all of the holiday festivities are over. I always have a bittersweet feeling after a holiday. It is nice to get things back to normal and get the house cleaned. But, I really like the anticipation of the holiday, the look in the kid's faces, and spending time with family.

Anyway, it is all over today and things are back to normal. I have a lot of cleaning to do today. Here are some pictures from our Easter:

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

What a day!

We have had such a great weekend so far! Yesterday, I took the kids to see the Easter bunny. Of course, Jaden wanted nothing to do with going up to him! But, Cassidy couldn't wait!

Afterward, we walked around the mall and got Cassidy some headbands at Claire's and a sweater to finish off her Easter dress. Cassidy found a Hello Kitty lollipop! She loved it!
Jaden picked out some Easter shorts! I can't wait to post those. But, that will wait until after Easter. We also spotted the stuffed animals in Sears! Wow, they have the whole line of stuffed animals from Charlotte's web. Cassidy had to hug them all! LOL

Jaden had his first soccer game of the season today! He did great! He even scored a goal! It was quite muddy and at one point Jaden said, "I am getting really muddy here!". LOL

Jaden loves to hang out with the coach while the other kids take a break!
Afterward, I had to stop at Meijer and pick up some eggs! They were having a contest and Jaden had to pick a ticket out of the bag. The lady looked surprised and said, "You won the bunny!". I looked over and saw a gigantic bunny sitting near the table! She gave it to Jaden. He was thrilled! They are also going to put his picture up in the store!

When we came home, we had our newest "maid" come! I now have help cleaning our upstairs rooms! My friend's daughter said she would do it once a week for $10! I was all over it! I got cupcakes done for tomorrow, the kid's bathroom cleaned, and we colored eggs! It was so nice not having to clean those rooms this week! What a blessing!

Easter cupcakes!
Happy Easter everyone!

Good Friday

Just a thought that I found on another site. Definitely how I feel!

Rather than remembering Christ's death on a certain day, once a year, the Bible instructs us to remember Christ’s death by observing the Lord’s Supper. First Corinthians 11:24-26 declares, “...do this in remembrance of me...for whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.”

Running

I have been running for quite awhile now. Before I lost all of the weight, I would walk fast on the treadmill. I eventually felt like I could run. 1 mile was so hard to run without stopping! Once I started doing that well, I started running 2 miles, but stopped once to catch my breath. When we joined the Y, I noticed I could run 3 miles on their treadmill. I wasn't sure why I couldn't do that at home! But now that I have the Nike+, I have found out that my mileage was off on my treadmill. I was actually going 3 miles! So, I have been running 3 miles! I can't believe it! Here are my stats so far this past week:

I almost hit the 4 mile mark. I can't wait to get to 5 miles. I was excited to run a 5k on the treadmill Sunday. It felt awesome!

So, I have the running down, I need to start eating better again. I have been eating bad for the past 5 days! I need to start eating more natural again. I will be going to the store on Friday. Here are some things on my list:
spinach, strawberries. coconut, Kashi meals, lettuce, eggs, grapes, whole wheat flour, Ezekiel bread, La Tortilla Factory tortillas, cheese, water (thinking of getting the pur system), cilantro, black beans

I have found this week that I cannot be trusted with potato chips, bagels, sugar, oreos, Italian beef sandwiches! I ate way too much.

So, here is what I will be doing the rest of the week (besides running and homeschooling!):

Make Cassidy's invitations

Grocery shopping:

Plant some of these:
Go to the mall (see the Easter Bunny!)

I hope everyone has a great week.
