I am too picky!

Well, tonight, I was suppose to be going to a Stampin up Workshop, but with the price of gas, I decided not to go! I can't believe it was $3.45 a gallon. That is insane. So, instead I went hunting for the kids' Easter outfits. I really don't think I am THAT picky, but I could not find a dress that I really liked for Cassidy. Jaden's outfit was easy. He looks so handsome in his new duds! We went to several stores before I finally found a dress for Cassidy. I am still not sure that it is the one that I wanted, but it will do.
The other day, we picked up some new things for the house. I got a green bird cage that I painted a rubbed bronze and put above our tv. I also got the light I wanted above our table. It looks so much homier in here now. I really would like to get these walls painted soon.

Tomorrow should be a slow, relaxing day. Thursday, my mom will be coming into town for the Flower and Patio show. That should be really fun! I can't wait!

Cassidy + Snow =

So, this morning when I saw snow on the ground, I was excited for Cassidy to get outside and play in it! She is pretty much over her cold, but Jaden is still coughing a lot. We told him he could play for a little while also. So, I bundled them all up:

Of course, Cassidy gave us her evil look several times. She was just not liking being all bundled up! She didn't cry, just gave dirty looks. It was hilarious. So, out they headed, well, without Cassidy. She decided after getting her gloves on, she didn't want to go out. Finally, she decided to. And this is where she stood the entire time:

Jeff tried to get her to play in the snow, but oooohhhh she didn't want anything to do with it!

Jaden started coughing, Cassidy took one step and then, they were done!

I don't know if this will be the last snow of the year, but I am hoping it is not. Don't get me wrong, I am ready for warm weather and flowers, but I want Jaden to have another chance before next year!!!!

Weightloss

The weightloss is going great. I am now 18 pounds away from my ultimate goal. I was hoping to be at that goal on my 30th birthday (April 3rd), but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. But, I am hoping to be closer to that goal. I am not going to give up until I get there. I have started doing more intense exercises and my legs are so sore. I am hoping I can get up the stairs to the bedroom tonight! LOL
Cassidy, Jaden, and I are all still sick. My nose will not stop running. I am feeling miserable. I have coughed so much that my chest hurts! Jeff is feeling fine so far.
I picked up some paint for Cassidy's new bookshelf today. I plan on painting it as soon as the weather warms up a little. There is still ice on the trees!
With my birthday coming up, I have been doing a lot of thinking of what I would really like to have. I love to make lists of things I want. So, I thought I would post some of those things.

Cleaned up!

Today, I cleaned up Jaden's room. It is actually starting to come together. I would like to get a few more things in there. He wants the walls painted blue. I would like to put stripes on his wall. We will see.

Nothing else going on today since we are all sick. We are just taking it easy and looking at all of the ice outside! I can't wait for Spring!

Sickness and a new bed!

We have dealt with so much sickness this past weekend. It started off with Cassidy having a sore throat and coughing all night. Then, Jaden woke up very early in the morning saying, " I am sick! I am sick!" and then, threw up on our bed, floor, and finally, the toilet. Ugh! So, we had a mess to clean up! He seemed to be okay after that, but Cassidy ended up having a fever that day and also, yesterday. Now, Jaden woke this morning with a cough and I am feeling it tonight!
Today, we picked up a new bed for Jaden! He finally has a twin bed! We are so excited and so is he! We got to put his new dinosaur bedding on it. He loves it! I can't wait to changed the handles on the nightstand! I want to find something really cute!

Baby Shower

Today, I got away for the day and went to a good friend's baby shower! It was nice to get away and have a little time for myself. It was so cool to see all of the baby stuff again. I was wondering what it would do to me. There was even a set of twin boys there. They were adorable. But, again, I had NO feeling of wanting another. I think that I am done. I have my boy and girl and I feel very blessed. I thank God for them every day and I do not think I want to change our family of
four.



Jeff stayed home with the kids and watched a Veggietales movie with them. I think they had a great time! Cassidy was coughing a lot yesterday and this morning, and when I came home, she had a fever and runny nose. Poor thing!
We got our family pictures taken this morning. Our subdivision had a special! We got to go to our neighbor's house and get our pictures taken professionally! It was awesome! Cassidy wouldn't smile, but I am happy to have some updated pictures to put up in our home. I will post them as soon as I get the cd of our proofs.

Quick Note:
I had some sad news this week. First, I found out that my sister in law's mother has cancer and it seems to be throughout her body. We should find out more this week. Second, one of my friend's found out her mother has lung cancer and they will not be doing treatment. So, she has 3 months to live. I just hope that you keep them in your prayers and pray for their families. This is such a tough time for them.

A new project!

I have wanted a dollhouse bookshelf for my daughter ever since she was born! It kind of got pushed out of the way with all of the other purchases we had to make. So, this morning, I was looking online and found a used bookshelf for only $20! Of course, it had decals on it and a purple roof. So, me and the kids picked it up and Jaden and I worked on it this afternoon. We sanded it down and took the decals off of it. I can't wait for it to be all white!

Trader Joe's!

Wow, I made my first trip to Trader Joe's and I love it! For such a small store, they have so many cool things! Today, we picked up some pizza dough and marinara sauce. I also got some Joe's O's (cheerios)! Jeff will be happy about that! I plan on making several trips there in the future!

Dieting is going GREAT!

The first day of dieting is always the hardest, and I got through it! Yesterday was awesome! I exercised and stayed under 1000 calories! I can't believe it. So, now it should get easier for me. I have followed it today perfectly. I even snacked on some cereal but got myself on the treadmill and burned it all off. So, I am feeling good.

I started on a little decoration for our entry way today. Just a small framed piece. I think it will look great. I get so many ideas from other bloggers! There are so many creative people out there!

Other than that, today is a lazy day. It has been snowing outside and we really didn't have anything planned. So, the laundry is drying the dishes have been washed and now I get to be creative while Cassidy sleeps. Jaden doesn't seem very motivated for school today, so we are taking a day off. I think he seems to do better every other day. Maybe I should be doing that with preschool anyway. We will start doing 5 days a week this Fall.

250 and counting......

So, today I have started a strict diet. I have said that several times in my life, especially the last couple of weeks. And yes, I am going to say, "Really, I am this time!". So, today I have had 250 calories and ran on the treadmill. Now, I have to eat supper. I plan on 500 calories for that. Most of you know, I have lost 70 pounds in the last few years and I have 20 more to lose. Now, I have a little more than 20, thanks to overeating the past couple of months. I think I eat food when I am missing something else. Well, with the move, I have been home a lot and not meeting many new people. I really feel we will meet more people when the weather gets warmer and we are out more. But, for now, we have been stuck inside with snow and ice outside most of the time. When I am stuck inside, I am always wanting to eat! I really don't know what it is, but it is very hard for me to just stick with my meals. But, that is what I have started to do today. I will have my special treats now and then, but I need to get back on track.
We had a great time in Terre Haute yesterday! It was my brother's birthday and we got him a gift card to Ridemakerz! This place looks so cool. I can't wait for him to go. He is a car junkie, and this just seems like his thing! We also achieved a major goal yesterday! We got my brother and his family to go to church with us! What a blessing that was! I also feel that God was speaking directly to him through the sermon we had that night. God was definitely there and working through our pastor. Hopefully, we can keep them going. We will be praying for that.

Craft time

Every day, I teach "school" to Jaden. I am homeschooling preschool and getting him prepared for kindergarten (which I will also be homeschooling). I came up with the great idea to have craft time every day! It was a great idea the first week, but now I am falling short of ideas. Last week, we drew pictures, played with homemade fingerpaints, and cut out pictures from magazines. I really have no idea what we will do next week, but I am sure it will come to me.

We really don't have much planned for today, but tomorrow we will be heading to Terre Haute for church and my brother's birthday party. We will be going to Cracker Barrel and playing black light miniature golf! Jaden is very excited!

The Children's Museum

We had a great day at the museum yesterday. It was very hectic with BOTH kids running around this year! Jaden loved the Curious George section and the robots. Cassidy enjoyed the dinosaurs and the carousel. We had such a great time. Jaden even got to go to his favorite restaurant, Bob Evans! He loves that place!

BooBoos and Today

Yesterday started out as a great day. I had some shopping planned and playtime with the kids. While getting ready, Cassidy was playing and ran into the corner of a wall. She cried, I looked for blood and found nothing, and began getting her ready to go. We went upstairs and started combing her hair back for a barrette and that is when I saw it!!!!!! She had a huge bump on her head and a scratch. It wasn't bleeding but looked awful! She had already forgotten about it by then! So, I put a cold towel on it, and she didn't like that. I was so happy to see that the bump had gone away this morning!

Today, we really don't have anything planned. Jeff works until late, so it will just be me and the kids all day. I cleaned this morning and plan on doing school with Jaden. We are planning on going to the Children's museum this Monday. That will be exciting. Jaden loves it there!

Don't peel a potato....

over the garbage disposal! I was making potato soup last night and my potato slipped out of my hands and down the garbage disposal! Everything got clogged and I had to wait on Jeff to get home to fix it. Luckily, we did not need to call a plumber!

Afterward, Jeff put up some curtains that I picked up at World Market. (yes, I know, they need ironed!) Wow, that is one of my favorite stores now! I loved it! I can't wait to go again.

The curtains are not exactly what I wanted, but they will do for now. I just couldn't pass up the deal on them!

I went to Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, and Crate and Barrel yesterday! Wow, I just love all of that stuff! I got a fandeck of Pottery Barn's paint colors. There are several that I like. I can't wait to start painting. I am hoping that is what we do next!

It is snowing outside and I am suppose to pick up Jaden in Terre Haute today and go to Stampin Up. I hope I can still make it! If not, Jeff will be going after work to get Jaden.

Jeff and I are looking forward to Jericho tonight! It is our favorite show!!!!!! It will be starting at 10.

Just me and Cassidy!

We had a great weekend. Yesterday, we went to Terre Haute to visit with my parents and to attend church. We always have a great time on Sundays. We decided to leave Jaden there with my parents until Tuesday. That leaves just me and Cassidy here today. I plan on doing some shopping and spending some quality time with her. We have really needed it. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Dieting

Okay, I really need to get serious about my dieting again. I haven't been doing everything I should be. I guess I could blame it on a lot of things. Especially this move. I seem to find peace in food! I can't stand that. Today, I begin a new day. I will hopefully lose the weight I gained over the holidays by March. Then, I would like to lose 5 more pounds by Spring!

We enjoyed dinner the other night at Culver's. We hardly ever go out to eat, it is just too much work with both kids. But, we braved it the other night and had a great time. I ate too much, but really enjoyed it. There is nothing like hot cheese curds! LOL

Heatwave!

Wow, I think the temperature was up in the 50's today! It felt so nice out. The kids and I went for a walk around our new neighborhood. It was fun. Jaden got to check out the little playground. He loved it! It has a sandbox, which he didn't get to play in because it was muddy! I think I actually wore Jaden out! That is almost impossible! It was nice to get out of the house and walk.
I ordered some prints for the kids' bathroom. I will post some pictures as soon as they arrive in the mail! Not much else is going on today. I hope everyone has a great week, and I will post some more pictures of the kids soon!

We had a great day today. I decided on shopping today! We went to Tuesday Morning (awesome), Homegoods, Target, and Meijer. I found several things. I think I have had enough shopping for this week. We really need to be saving some money!

Window Treatments

I really don't think people realize how much goes into window dressing, until they are doing it. I am trying to come up with 13 window treatments. It is so overwhelming. First, I have to decide on the various kinds of shades I would like. I have almost decided on those. Now, the curtain situation is a whole different story. I really have no idea yet. I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on just one window. So, I am trying to find some good deals on just what I want.

We decided to go with pull down shades for the kids' rooms and the office. I decided on roman shades for the living room. The play room is getting vinyl blinds (nothing fancy in there!).
